The staff of Scientific Production Firm “Pulse” has been working in the field of cryogenic technologies since 1970 as a part of research lab of Scientific Production Company “Saturn”, which was a component of Soviet military space complex.

Till 1981 it worked on the issues of heat-mass exchange within the range of nitric and helium temperatures, on inventing temperature-controlled sensitive cryostatic devices in the above-mentioned temperature range.

The research results have been practically implemented in the number of technologies in military and space field.

Living credo is “To be only the first”

ZHARKOV YAROSLAV VASILEVICH Director of “Pulse” Scientific and Production Company, a Member of the Board of Directors of International and European Associations of Cryosurgeons. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications, 11 copyright certificates of the USSR, 12 national patents, in particular, in Ukraine (3) and in Austria (9), in 19 countries of the European Union (3), Switzerland (3), USA (3) and Japan (3).

Taking into account huge theoretical and practical experience in the field of cryogenic technologies, since 1981 the Government of the USSR has set a problem of inventing cryogenic device for effective cryodestruction of biological tissue, in particular various neoplasms. In its result the conceptual basis for inventing modern cryosurgical equipment was elaborated, based on the outcomes of fundamental researches of the cryodestruction mechanisms and the latest achievements in the field of cryogenic technologies — low temperature heat exchange, electron-beam and laser welding, powder metallurgy etc.

The basis of the above-mentioned concept is the invention of single cryosurgical complex, which consists of extra-high-power multipurpose automated controlled cryosurgical systems, equipped with wide set of various cryoinstruments and applicators, which allow applying cryosurgical method effectively in all medicine fields, where it can be applied.

In 1994 the laboratory staff left the Scientific Production Company “Saturn” and established the Scientific Production Firm “Pulse” as the Limited Liability Company with a view to keeping implementation of the above-mentioned conceptual program. During the activity period the company has elaborated the model of equipment, produced and delivered two modifications of mobile cryosurgical unit — “Cryoelectronica-2” and “Cryoelectronica-4” (now it is “Cryo-Pulse”).

In general during the whole period of activity more than 300 units were produced and delivered to the medical institutions of Ukraine, Russia and so on.

The main field of application of cryosurgical equipment is oncology. Besides, cryosurgical equipment is widely applied in gynecology, proctology, dermatology, cosmetology etc.

Nowadays the Scientific Production Firm “Pulse” is working on inventing portable and stationary cryosurgical systems, new sets of cryoinstruments and applicators for various fields of medicine.

The company consists of:
— 25 permanent members;
— up to 15 employees are invited if necessary.

At the facility it makes mainly scientific researches, assembly and tuning during short-run production. Components and details are produced at different production facilities of Ukraine. The production capacities of the Scientific Production Firm “Pulse” allow producing up to 30 mobile (“Cryo-Pulse”) cryosurgical units per year.
