During the last two decades, cryogenic treatment of precancerous diseases in women is widespread. It became possible owing to the fact that externalia, neck and body of womb are easily accessible for cryosurgical intervention. Moreover, painlessness, minimum trauma, no bleedings in postoperative period allows making the majority of cryosurgeries in outpatient facilities.

The main disadvantage of cryogenic instrumentation generally used in medical practice is impossibility for control of cryosurgical parameters that is necessary for individualization of treatment, and it is possible only if basic cryogenic instrumentation with automated management is used. “Cryo-Pulse” unit meets such requirements.

Diseases of neck of uterus are known to be often accompanied with immunodeficiency states. In this connection, authors investigated responses of general cell mediated and humoral immunity in patients with precancerous state of neck of uterus before cryosurgical treatment and noted that cryosurgery activated cellular factors, increases functional activity of T lymphocytes, and corrective influence on humoral immunity is observed.

The cryosurgical method of treatment of pathological processes of neck of uterus has no harmful effect on menstrual and genital functions of woman and can be used in treatment of some forms of cervical sterility. Authors used cryosurgical “Cryo-Pulse” unit in treatment of more than 12,000 patients with underlying and pretumor diseases of externalia and genitals.
