Areas of application. Otorhinolaryngology
The term “cryosurgery” combines using in medicine various effects of low and ultra low temperatures, the main of which is tissue cryolysis. Now it is possible to make cryonecrosis in pathologically changed area of tissue as on the surface of a human body, so practically in any of its cavities. Owing to such property, cryosurgery becomes increasingly important in various medical specialities.

The steps concerning cryoimmunology, i.e. studying of immunologic response in organism to cryosurgery are very important.
In otorhinolaryngological practice, cryosurgery is used in treatment of the following diseases:
- adenoid disease;
- lateral and granulose pharyngitis;
- vasomotor rhinitis;
- hemangiomas in ENT organs and oral cavity;
- nasal bleedings;
- papillomatosis and nodose formations in larynx;
- glomal tumours in the middle ear and the base of skull, etc.
The appreciable practical value of cryosurgery in ENT-practice is represented in possibility of using of this sparing method in child otorhinolaryngology.
Cryosurgeries can be successfully carried out at city and regional hospitals, in out-patient and hospital facilities.
